Ironically the very equipment that was installed to take away smells \/ odour. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/southwest-environmental.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/odour_1.png\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" data-original-height=\"303\" data-original-width=\"329\" height=\"294\" src=\"https:\/\/southwest-environmental.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/odour_1-300x276.png\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Typically an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southwest-environmental.co.uk\/further%20info\/environmental_impact_assessment\/odour_impact_assessment.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">odour impact assessment<\/a> is not carried out based on direct &#8220;smells&#8221; that we for example might sniff upon visiting a site. Instead they are conducted using reference values, perhaps from other sewage treatment works.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">We take these values and feed them in to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/scram\/air-quality-dispersion-modeling-preferred-and-recommended-models\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">model <\/a>which is very complicated, and factors in weather, and when and where smells (odour) will be generated.
