{"id":525,"date":"2024-12-05T10:04:38","date_gmt":"2024-12-05T10:04:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southwest-environmental.co.uk\/blog\/?p=525"},"modified":"2024-12-05T10:04:38","modified_gmt":"2024-12-05T10:04:38","slug":"incorrect-flood-zone-3b-on-flood-mapping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southwest-environmental.co.uk\/blog\/2024\/12\/05\/incorrect-flood-zone-3b-on-flood-mapping\/","title":{"rendered":"Incorrect Flood Zone 3b on Flood Mapping"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Incorrect Flood Zone 3b on Flood Mapping<\/h1>\n<p>This is about as niche as it gets . . . . but here we go!<\/p>\n<p>We have recently seen a couple of examples where <a href=\"https:\/\/map.cornwall.gov.uk\/website\/ccmap\/?zoomlevel=1&amp;xcoord=162690&amp;ycoord=64380&amp;wsName=ccmap&amp;layerName=\">Cornwall Council&#8217;s flood mapping<\/a> (which is different to <a href=\"https:\/\/flood-map-for-planning.service.gov.uk\/\">flood map for planning<\/a>) gives some very strange results for Flood Zone 3b.<\/p>\n<h2>How Flood Zones Normally Appear<\/h2>\n<p>Perhaps the most familiar flood mapping for those &#8220;in the trade&#8221; is the flood map for planning. They can extend up to the edge, but not beyond.<\/p>\n<h1>Flood Zone 3b on Cornwall Council Flood Mapping<\/h1>\n<p>So when we first saw the mapping from Cornwall Councils&#8217; own mapping service below we knew something was wrong with it.
