In today's planning environment, securing consent for development—especially on constrained urban sites—requires robust evidence and strategic transport planning. We specialize in preparing high-quality, policy-compliant Parking Survey Reports and Transport Assessments across the UK. Our service helps clients confidently justify development proposals with reduced or zero parking provision in sustainable locations.

We provide comprehensive transport planning services tailored to local planning authority requirements, including:
Policy Compliance Analysis: Detailed assessment against national frameworks (e.g., NPPF) and local development management policies (like Bristol’s SADMP).
On-Street Parking Surveys: Rigorous, methodology-compliant surveys to accurately map existing parking conditions, availability, and demand.
Sustainable Strategy Justification: Developing compelling arguments for zero or reduced car parking based on site constraints, public transport accessibility, and cycle provision.
Residential Expectations Management: Providing clear, realistic assessments of urban parking realities to inform future residents and local authorities.
Our work often involves overcoming significant site challenges, such as a recent project in East Bristol which successfully justified a zero on-site parking approach for a 6-unit residential development:
The Challenge: The site was severely constrained (approx. 0.03 hectares), making on-site car parking incompatible with maintaining high-quality residential design.
Our Solution: We conducted a detailed, peak-hour parking survey within a 150-meter radius, demonstrating that despite high occupancy (85.2%), there were approximately 30 available spaces on surrounding streets.
The Result: We successfully demonstrated that the anticipated demand (estimated at 3.6–4.8 vehicles) was easily accommodated by the existing on-street capacity, which was 6–8 times greater than the demand. This, combined with the site's excellent proximity to major train stations and local amenities, secured a policy-compliant and sustainable outcome.
It takes about 4 days.
2 or 3 days on site and 1 day reporting.
The area needs to be visited multiple times over a 2 or 3 days period. The report will need to include tabulated data, basic statistical analysis, and various plans.
How Long Will I have to Wait?
In normal circumstances you will only have to wait about 10 working days for your report.
However, as with many transport related reporting, these surveys cannot be undertaken during the school holidays.
